General

On the homepage, click on Forms & Applications.

Agendas and minutes can be found on the townofeaglewi.us website under the “Agendas and Minutes” tab. They are also available at the Town Clerk’s office. Meeting agendas are also posted at the entrance to Town Hall, at the Post Office, and at Cornerstone Filling Station, not less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The Town Hall is located at 820 E. Main Street, Eagle WI 53119. Our office hours are Monday – Thursday 9 am to 4 pm and Friday 9 am to 12noon.

Records can be obtained by contacting the Clerk’s Office, either in person or by phone. It is helpful to the Clerk’s Office that your request be in writing and that it be as specific as possible. This will assist us in filling your request.

No. The Town of Eagle does not have public water or public sewer.

Application Forms can be found under the Forms & Applications tab. Bring the completed application, along with a copy of your Servers Course Certificate or a copy of a current operator’s license from another Wisconsin community, as well as the $25.00 fee. You will need to provide photo identification, unless you have your form notarized beforehand.

The Town Park Pavilion Rental Form can be found under Forms & Applications. The fee structure can be found on the form. Once the Department of Public Works confirms to the Town Office that everything is in order, your security deposit will be refunded.

If the burn will be less than an acre in size, a burn permit is not required. You will have to follow the policy that winds must be less than ten (10) miles per hour, there must be a water source, and the fire must be attended at all times. If your burn is larger than an acre, contact the Eagle Fire Department at 262-594-3302 to obtain a permit.

Zoning Code

The Town of Eagle Zoning Code is located under the Services tab, Zoning Code/Map. Additional zoning information can be obtained by going to the zoning hub at: https://townofeagle.zoninghub.com/home.aspx

Animal Regulations & Licensing

Minimum Lot Size. The minimum lot size for household livestock is 3 acres. Number of animals. The number of animals shall not exceed one grazing animal for each acre plus 10 fowl for each acre. Prohibited animals. The following animals are not permitted on parcels smaller than 35 acres: hogs, male goats, roosters, or fur-bearing animals, other than rabbits. Location of buildings. A building that houses household livestock shall not be located within a floodplain or closer than 50 feet to any existing dwelling unit or any lot line. Fencing. Any area where poultry, domestic livestock, or horses are allowed to pasture or run shall be adequately fenced to keep them confined to such area.

Three dogs are permitted per household. Cats are not regulated.

Applications for dog licenses are included in your tax bill mailing or they are available in the Clerk’s Office. You can also obtain one online under Forms and Permits/Dog License Application.

Contact the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) during the day at 262-542-8851. Their evening number is 262-993-9811.

Number. No more than 4 chickens may be kept. Roosters. The keeping of roosters is prohibited. Enclose requirements. Chickens shall be provided with a covered enclosure and must be kept n the covered enclosure or a fenced enclosure at all times. Setback requirements. The enclosure housing chickens shall be located at least 25 feet from any residential structure on an adjacent lot. Registration required. The owner, operator, or tenant shall register the premise where chickens are kept with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as required by state law and maintain such registration for so long as may be required.

Roads

The speed limits were reduced for a several reasons. The Town has received numerous requests to have them lowered over the past few years. In fact, the Town just received a petition signed by forty-one (41) residents to lower the speed limits on Piper and Ulrickson Roads. The Town is aware that many people use these roads to walk their dogs, ride their horses or for exercise. Lastly, the Town Board discussed on which roads should the speed limit be lowered. The Town Board decided that the roads that should be reduced are the roads in which a subdivision enters/exits out onto. The intent in the reduction is to keep the public safe.

Elections

All voting occurs in the Eagle Municipal Building, just across the hall from the Town Hall office, in the large meeting room.

You may register to vote in the Town Hall office, by mail, or online. Voter registration applications can be found under the Forms & Applications button. Proof of residence is required to complete the application process. To register online, go to myvote.wi.gov and follow the prompts.

To obtain an absentee ballot, complete the Absentee Ballot Request Form which can be found under the Forms & Applications button on the home page. Return the completed form, along with a copy of your Photo ID to the Clerk’s Office either in-person or by mail. There are deadlines to request an absentee ballot. If the request is made by mail it must be in the office of the municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding an election. (This is the last day a clerk can mail an absentee ballot to an elector.) If the request is made in-person at the clerk's office-it can be made until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the election. Special provisions are made for hospitalized electors and sequestered jurors to request and vote by absentee ballot on Election Day.

WI driver’s license, WI state ID, US Uniform Services card, US passport book or card, Veteran’s Affair ID card, WI state ID receipt, University/College Tech College ID with enrollment verification, Certificate of Naturalization, or a Tribal ID card.

Garbage/Recycling

You should contact the Town Hall at 262-594-5800 with your property address. The Town will contact Badgerland Disposal with the details.

Electronics/Televisions will be picked up during your regular bulk pick-up day. No more than three (3) bulk items will be collected in one day.

Household hazardous waste cannot be collected at the curb. Waukesha County Recycling offers collection events held at various locations around Waukesha County. Details of these events, once scheduled, will be posting on the home page of the Town of Eagle’s website.

The Town of Eagle offers two (2) Yard Waste Drop-off Events at the Town Park, S91 W35287 CTH NN. One event will be held in the spring, the other in the fall. As soon as dates are scheduled, they will be posted on the home page of the Town’s website.

Properties south of County Highway NN are serviced on Tuesdays; Properties to the north are serviced on Wednesdays. If you are still not sure, go to the top of this page, click on Community, Garbage & Recycling, and scroll down the page where you will find a service area map. Garbage is collected weekly. Recycling is collected bi-weekly. The collection calendar and the collection day map can be found on this site under Community: Garbage & Recycling.

Taxes

Your first installment of your property taxes may be paid at the Town Hall. The second installment is due to Waukesha County. You may pay in-person during our regular business hours or you may pay by mail. Checks should be written to the Town of Eagle, PO Box 327, Eagle WI 53119 or Waukesha County, located at the Waukesha County Courthouse, 515 W. Moreland Blvd., Room AC148 Waukesha, WI 53188 respectively.

Recreation

The Recreation Department offers many different activities from toddler to seniors. To find the current activity guide, click on the Departments tab and select Recreation. The activity guide can be found in the middle of the page.
